Looking for a 50s skirt to complete your favorite fifties outfit? There were 2 main shapes seen around mid-century. First, there were the sexy high waist pencil skirts that offer a sleek way to show of your figure. If it's a tight one, it's commonly called a "wiggle skirt", for obvious reason. These have become very trendy again, and are part of such styles as "secretary" chic when paired with a vintage blouse. The other shape is the ubiquitous circle skirt with its yards and yards of swirling fabric. These make gorgeous formal or party dresses, but can easily be accessorized for daytime wear, Vintage circle skirts will often have appliqués, such as the 50s poodle skirt. Both could be found with or without pleats. Pair one with your favorite 50s shirt for a killer retro vintage style.
